Job summary
Medicare is seeking to appoint a Weekday Consultant with a specialist
interest in Head and Neck who is committed to providing high quality patient
care within a growing Head and Neck service.
Main duties of the job
Medicare provides services Radiology across NHS trusts
nationally. The successful applicants will join Medicare on a contractor basis
across an enthusiastic and committed team that work together regularly to
deliver an efficient and effective service across a trusts local area. The
Medicare team will deliver interventional biopsy lists alongside FNA lists to
help the trust bring down their waiting times for this modality, improving
outcomes for the trust due to faster diagnosis. Ongoing care of patients will
not be expected.
The consultant will be expected to mirror the trusts
processes and ensure all imaging has been reported and saved in the appropriate
area. The consultant will need to use the IT systems including the reporting pathway
that the trust uses. Training will be a requirement prior to starting the first
shift at a new trust. This may be either virtual or face to face with the
trust.

Essential
- MRCP/FRCS (or equivalent)
- On GMC registered Medical Practitioner GMC specialist registration
Experience
Essential
- Minimum experience of 2 years at consultant level within the NHS.
- Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining UK CCST in Radiology
- Subspecialty training in Head & Neck radiology.
- Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of GMC standards in Good Medical Practice including:
- Good clinical care
- Maintaining good medical practice
- Good relationships and communication with patients
- Good working relationships with colleagues
- Good teaching and training
- Professional behaviour and probity
- Delivery of good acute clinical care
