Job summary

Innovations in Care is an award-winning care provider dedicated to supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and mental illness. We are currently seeking compassionate and experienced Care Support Workers to join our team. This role involves providing person-centred support to a client with complex needs, including personal care, promoting independent living, and assisting during behaviours of distress.

Main duties of the job

As a Care Support Worker you will assist your client to live independently in their own home. Your role includes:

Personal care, Medication management, Meal preparation, Household tasks,Companionship, Mobility assistance, Appointment coordination, Monitoring and reporting, Safety and emergency response, Documentation, Collaboration with healthcare professionals:

  • Ability to provide personal care with sensitivity, respect, and dignity.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work effectively within a team.

Desirable

  • Experience working with individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism is highly desirable.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Unrestricted right to work in the UK.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable

  • A formal qualification in Adult Care is preferred. Successful applicants that do not hold a formal qualification will be required to complete a Level 2 qualification if appointed.
