Job summary

  • Working in collaboration with Lincolnshire ICB and PCNs, Lincolnshire Training Hub are on the hunt for Education Environment Leads (EEL). The aim of this role is to act as a link between PCNs, Practices, ARRS staff, ICB and the Training Hub to support PCN Clinical Directors with all things learning and development with a focus on Workforce Transformation/Growing our own.
  • Working In collaboration with the PCN CDs identify PCN staff learning needs utilising data from a variety of sources e.g., practice audits, knowledge of the requirements of specific staff development pathways and support the management of Continuous Professional Development for PCN staff
  • Key priorities will be: -

Main duties of the job

  • To champion the education and learning function within the PCN

  • To act as an educational expert, signposting to appropriate resources and developmental opportunities

  • To form a network with other EELs to share resources and best practice.

  • To support PCN CDs to plan the primary care workforce including ARRS roles and apprenticeships using an appropriate skill matrix.

  • To work in collaboration with the ICB workforce and Training Hub to support clinical and academic fellowship programmes.

  • To understand and share the opportunities provided by technology or other innovative solutions to develop an effective learning environment.

  • Link newly appointed staff with the ICB and Lincolnshire Training Hub for monthly peer support and educational sessions

  • To work in partnership with the ICB and Lincolnshire Training Hub

  • To access student capacity at PCN level

  • To act as a supervisor and or assessor to pre-registration students in primary care placements and to support other supervisors/assessors in the PCN.

  • To increase supervisor/assessor numbers amongst qualified staff

  • Utilise mentoring, coaching and supervision skills on a one-to-one basis to support individuals to plan and manage their on-going development.

  • Work with ICB and Training Hub to evaluate EELs role

Lincolnshire Training Hub was formed following an initiative from Health Education England to assist with workforce transformation in Primary Care. We work across Lincolnshire with our partner organisations Lincolnshire ICB, the Lincolnshire STP, Lincolnshire LMC and the PCN Alliance, as well as universities and other stakeholders across the East Midlands to promote primary care as a first-choice career destination.
