Rate: £22 per hour

About Exemplar Health Care

A nurse-led care home for adults with complex needs, Otterburn aims to make every day better for service users. Identifying achievable goals with service users, their families and professionals ensure they retain some form of independence. Overall rating with CQC is Good Jan 2022.

Otterburn has 30 large bedrooms, each with an en-suite, across three units. The home has communal dining and living spaces, a TV lounge and a large accessible garden.

We are looking for experienced tracheostomy trained nurses or nurses who are willing to be trained and signed off as competent to work on the Tracheostomy Unit.You will lead by example, delivering hands-on nursing care.You willhave a person centred ethos and be committed to enriching the lives of the individuals in your care.

As we are committed to providing the best care and support to all our Service Users, the average ratio of staff in this Home is 5 Support Workers to every Nurse.

About the role

This is a highly skilled and experienced nursing role where youll be accountable and responsible for supporting peoples clinical needs.

Youllprovide the highest standards of nursing care for adults living with complex care and health needs.Our care focuses on maximising independence and building everyday living skills.

No two days will ever be the same, but your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• providing expert support and adviceto colleagues
• assessing, planning and providing person-centred nursing care for the people we support
• the safe administration of medication
• promoting health and wellbeing
• managing situations when people display behaviours of concern
• promoting choice, dignity, independence and respect.

Qualifications

Essential

• To apply for this role, you must have a first level nursing registration with a valid Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) PIN.
• When you start, youll do a welcome induction which covers mandatory and statutory training including moving and handling, safeguarding, person-centred care and infection prevention and control.
• The welcome induction also includes Exemplar Positive Behaviour Support training with our Behaviour Support Team.
• After that, youll do our bespoke Senior Registered Nurse induction in your home with the support of a buddy.
• Throughout your employment, youll have regular clinical supervisions and Performance Development Reviews (PDRs) with your Manager.
• During your PDR, youll review your progress, celebrate your achievements, address any issues and identify your career
• aspirations.
