Job summary

Outpatient Network is seeking a proactive and dynamic Fibroscan Technician to work as part of our insourcing team.This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the provision of high-quality healthcare in a dynamic and fast-paced clinical environment.Fibro scans (transient elastography) are a non-invasive investigation which measure liver fibrosis and have increasing utility across viral hepatitis and hepatology services.

Main duties of the job

  • Work effectively within the multi-disciplinary team

  • Support the team in developing the fibro scan service
  • Support the team with accurate data collection and audits of the fibro scan service
  • Act as a liaison for all healthcare professionals involved in health care provision to facilitate integrated patient focused care
  • Record fibro scan results
  • Effectively deliver fibro scans to a high standard and in accordance with local and national training protocols

Essential

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Medical Sonography or Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound.
  • Certification by a recognised accrediting body such as the the British Medical Ultrasound Society (BMUS).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Sonographer, with specific expertise in Fibroscans

Experience

Desirable

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Medical Sonography or Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound.
  • Certification by a recognised accrediting body such as the the British Medical Ultrasound Society (BMUS).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Sonographer, with specific expertise in fibroscans.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of abdominal anatomy, physiology, and pathology, particularly related to diseases of the liver as well as related conditions.
  • Proficiency in operating ultrasound equipment and conducting diagnostic imaging procedures with accuracy and precision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced clinical setting.
  • Commitment to maintaining professional standards and adhering to ethical principles in clinical practice.
  • Valid professional registration and licensure, as required by regulatory authorities.
