An exciting opportunity has arisen for the appointment of an Oncology Staff Nurse for our Brand New stand-alone oncology unit at Oaks Hospital.

Essential

  • NMC Registration
  • Post Registration Qualifications/Course in chemotherapy administration or willingness to undertake
  • UKONS passport

Experience

Essential

  • Experience in organising oncology care
  • Pre assessment of the Oncology / Haematology patient including Observations, Toxicity assessment and bloods taken peripherally or via central line.
  • Ability to work independently and within a small team
  • Administration of SACT via IV, SC, IM and Oral routes
  • Clinical skills in cannulation, phlebotomy and the use of CVCs
  • Experience in Paxman scalp coolers
  • Acute Oncology Haematology experience essential
