Job summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated
Residential Support Worker with NVQ Level 3 qualification in childrens to join
our service. The Residential Support Worker will be responsible for providing
high-quality care and support to children/young people living in childrens
residential homes primarily in Coventry. The ideal candidate will have a strong
commitment to enhancing the quality of life for the children/young people they
will be caring for.
Main duties of the job
Provide direct care
and support to children in accordance
with their individual care plans, ensuring their physical, emotional, and
social needs are met.
Assist children with activities of daily living, including
personal hygiene, dressing, and medication administration.
Foster a safe and
supportive environment for children , promoting their independence and
well-being.
Establish positive
relationships with children, families, and other members of the care team,
advocating for their rights and preferences.
Monitor and report
changes in childrens physical or emotional condition to appropriate staff
members and participate in the development and review of care plans.
Facilitate
recreational and therapeutic activities with childrens , encouraging social
engagement and participation.

- You will be confident with support plans and risk assessments and be able to complete a thorough handover to the rest of the team and management regarding the individual concerned in a positive, structured, and professional manner.

- NVQ Level 3 in childrens or working towards achieving NVQ level 3 in childrens.
- Two years prior experience working in a Childrens residential care setting or similar environment is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to providing care and support to childrens/young people with diverse needs.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of basic caregiving principles and techniques, including personal care and hygiene practices.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and willingness to learn and utilize electronic documentation systems.
Working conditions
- The role involves working in a residential childrens care setting, which may include assisting residents with mobility, lifting, and transferring.
