Biomedical Scientist - Blood Sciences We have an exciting opportunity for a Biomedical Scientist to join our Biochemistry , Blood Transfusion and Haematology team within our Pathology Department based at The London Clinic in Central London, W1G 7L, with a competitive salary range on offer. The candidate will primarily be based in Biochemistry to support the department for 18 months. Established in 1932, The London Clinic is one of the UK's largest private hospitals, with state-of-the-art facilities located around Harley Street. We have approx. 1350 employees across 8 sites, where we cover a broad range of specialisms, including complex medical and surgical procedures and a comprehensive range of cancer and outpatient services. Job Profile As a Biomedical Scientist you will carry out / supervise technical and scientific work in the laboratory under the direction of the Chief/Senior Biomedical Scientist or Consultant. You will work alongside the Blood Sciences team members and leaders to cultivate and maintain a culture in which staff are continuously improving the delivery of a high quality, efficient and effective services.
Job Type: This is a permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week. Shifts: Monday to Friday working earlies and lates with 1 in 4 Saturday Shifts Benefits package: Contributory pension scheme (total annual contribution up to 20%). Undertake routine and specialist laboratory techniques in line with department standard operating procedures.Record information on the pathology laboratory information system and ensure it complies with national and local data standards.To assess, initiate and monitor appropriate action when a situation may compromise service delivery and to escalate.To be aware of the processes for escalation of laboratory issues. Post HCPC registrationRecent laboratory experience in BiochemistryWorking knowledge of ISO15189 requirementsBSc.
