Job summary

  • To plan and implement nursing care for patients accessing all endoscopy services.
  • To support patients with their diagnosis and treatment plans.
  • Ensure safe and quality care for all service users.
  • To maintain high standards of nursing care and support junior staff to do the same.
  • To supervise qualified and/or unqualified staff.
  • To teach qualified and unqualified staff including basic and/or post-basic students.
  • To provide an on-call service for the London Clinic.

Main duties of the job

To ensure the safe management and care of patients in the following areas:

  • Endoscopy pre-assessment.
  • All endoscopy procedures.
  • Recovery post-procedure, including general anesthetic. o Discharge from services.

We are currently seeking an experienced Band 5 Endoscopy Nurse to join our well-established, JAG-accredited Endoscopy Unit. Job

Profile:

As a Band 5 Endoscopy Staff Nurse, you'll be a key part of our high-performing Endoscopy Unit, supporting patients through every stage of their care journey - from pre-assessment and procedure to recovery and discharge. You will work across a variety of cases, including general anaesthetic procedures, in a supportive and well-equipped environment.

You'll also play a part in the Endoscopy On-Call Service, supporting the clinic's 24/7 high standards of care.

Job Location: 20 Devonshire Place, London, W1G 6BW

Job Type: This is a full-time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday. (Hours between 8am-8pm)

Salary: Depending on skills and experience. Benefits package:

  • Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care throughout the endoscopy pathway.
  • Support patients with sensitive diagnoses and treatment plans in a compassionate, informative manner.
  • Participate in the unit's on-call rota and work flexibly across the unit's hours (07:30 to 20:00, Monday to Friday).
  • Liaise effectively with consultants, anaesthetists, and MDTs to uphold excellent care standards.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support junior and student nurses.
  • Administer medications and manage specimens in accordance with protocols.
  • Contribute to clinical audits, policy development, and infection prevention control.
