We have an exciting opportunity for a Staff Nurse (Band 5 NHS equivalent) to join the Eye Center based at 119 Harley Street. We are offering a competitive salary up to £46,238, plus a fantastic array of benefits. Job Profile The Staff Nurse will assist the Manager in ensuring the department is efficiently and effectively managed at all times, and be responsible for the delivery of the highest standards of care and services. This includes the appropriate assessment and evaluation of care in keeping with:

  • The philosophies of the Clinic/Department
  • The NMC Code of Professional Conduct and the Scope of Professional Practice
  • The London Clinic and Eye Centre Policies and Protocols
  • Job Type: This is a full-time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week.
  • Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday 9am-5.30pm
  • Job Location: 119 Harley Street, London, W1G 6BW (Close to Regents Park/Baker St tube stations).
  • Salary: NHS Band 5 Equivalent

  • Key Duties
  • Regularly participate in department meetings to enhance team communication.
  • Understand the department budget to promote effective use of resources at all times.
  • Be flexible in staffing situations, assisting in other areas as required.
  • Participate in staff induction and mentorship.
  • Be competent in the use of the London Clinic computer system.
  • Ensure that Drug Administration and Control is in accordance with legislative requirements and clinic regulations.
  • Maintain effective interdepartmental liaison to enhance patient care.
  • Take responsibility for individualised patient care acting as the named nurse, using the specific model for the department.
  • Ensure legibility and accuracy of nursing records and be aware of the legal implications of these documents.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of patient or employee records in accordance with the Clinic's Data Protection Policies.
  • Promote research-based practice, quality assurance and clinical audit, where appropriate.
  • Support staff training needs within your department.
  • Skills
  • 2 years post registration experience in an acute setting.
  • Experience in admission, assessment and discharge of patients
  • Experience in assisting medical staff with out patient ophthalmic interventions
  • Recent experience in ophthalmic nursing
