Job summary

The Opportunity: Occupational Therapist

In this role, you'll be an integral part of our Acute services team, working autonomously and collaboratively to provide high-quality, patient-centered care. Your responsibilities will include individualized care plans, leading engaging group sessions, and conducting enriching 1:1 sessions for occupational engagement.

Main duties of the job

  1. Patient Care:

      • Develop and implement personalized care plans.
      • Lead group sessions and 1:1 engagement for patient enrichment.
    1. Team Collaboration:

      • Work autonomously and collaboratively with the Acute services team.
    2. Assessment and Treatment:

      • Provide high-quality assessments and treatment programs.
      • Monitor and adjust therapeutic interventions based on patient progress.
    3. Leadership and Supervision:

      • Lead and supervise the Occupational Therapy department.
    4. Integration with Multidisciplinary Team:

      • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to integrate OT services seamlessly.
    5. Strategy and Service Development:

      • Drive the development of OT strategies aligned with hospital objectives.
      • Contribute significantly to enhancing therapy services in the new acute ward.
    6. Professional Development and Training:

      • Demonstrate commitment to continuous learning for the OT team.
      • Provide induction and ongoing training to maintain high care standards.
    7. Documentation:

      • Produce accurate and timely documentation adhering to professional standards.

These duties are both individualised patient care and contributions to the broader team and service development.

About us

Priory Hospital Norwich is our new acute service which was opened in June 2020. Since then we have invested heavily in Priory Hospital Norwich in order to revitalise or service and ensure that we put our patients at the centre of everything we do. We are currently in the process of a phased opening and are looking for candidates who are committed to being a part of our long term journey. We are a busy acute unit aiming to offer a high standard of care and deliver great outcomes for patients.

As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will play a pivotal role in delivering individualised care plans, leading group sessions, and conducting 1:1 sessions to provide occupational engagement and enrichment. Working across our Acute services, you'll balance autonomous and team-based responsibilities, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care.

Your Role:

Your primary responsibilities include providing a high-quality assessment and treatment program aligned with patient needs and strengths in a recovery-focused manner, prioritizing patient safety. As part of the broader Therapies Team, you'll engage in regular clinical and management supervision, receiving the necessary support for professional growth. Good time management, motivation, and strong interpersonal skills are crucial in this role.
