Job summary

Priory Mill Garth is currently recruiting for a RMN or RNLD to join their Nursing team based in their locked rehabilitation and recovery service.

Main duties of the job

Main duties of the role include:

  • To accept primary nurse responsibility for an allocated caseload of patients
  • To accept CPA responsibility for an allocated caseload of patients
  • To plan and implement nursing care of individual patients paying particular attention to areas of nursing risk management
  • To ensure nursing practice remains within the parameters of the clinical strategy
  • To prepare patient reports for upcoming hearings.
  • To prepare patient reports and attend where necessary ward rounds, CPA's and other meetings.
  • Supervision of staff.

We are a 21-bedded locked rehabilitation and recovery service providing high quality services to men aged 18 years and over. The person centred recovery pathway is offered to those living with mental illnesses and personality disorders. We firmly believe that anyone with a mental health condition should be given the best chance possible to lead a happy and fulfilling life, and our aim is to provide individuals with the confidence and skills to move or return to the community.

Job responsibilities

Our Registered Mental Health Nurse role involves:

  • Providing a high standard of care to people with mental illness, personality disorder and learning disability
  • Developing therapeutic relationships to optimise patient engagement
  • Following all codes of conduct, standards and legislation, respecting the rights of others and promoting ethical practice
  • Contributing to patient assessments, compiling a plan of care alongside the individual, and monitoring patient progress
  • Accept personal and shared responsibility for the maintenance of quality nursing care, for all patients as part of a multi-disciplinary team approach within a rehabilitation and recovery setting.
  • To promote and safeguard the wellbeing and interests of all patients, employees and visitors
  • To ensure that all standards of patient care are maintained at all times within the parameters of operational policies and governing legislation
  • To promote a supportive culture based on open and honest communication and reflective practice

Our units operate 24 hours 7 days a week, and our nursing staff work shift patterns including weekends, bank holidays and nights.

Full time and part time and flexible working opportunities are available

Salary ranges from £28.333.20 to £33,147.60 dependent upon experience along with regular pay reviews.
