Job summary

The Priory Hospital Preston has established an excellent reputation for offering calming and recovery focused residential treatment for up to 38 service users.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist for our Eating Disorder ward, part time 22.5 hours.

You will fulfil the role of Responsible Clinician to patients supervising the process of referral and admission including contribution to the pre-admission assessments. The role is a pivotal element of an established multi-disciplinary team aiming to ensure that patients receive a person-centric care and treatment programme.   • Cottam Ward -12-bedded acute mental health
  • Rosemary Ward -16-bedded acute mental health

Job responsibilities

To join us, you must hold a CCST/CCT or equivalent in the relevant areas of psychiatry and have experience of working in inpatient settings with people with significant mental health difficulties. You will have experience in Eating Disorder Services at consultant level.

You will be an excellent team player keen to participate in a multi disciplinary approach to assessment with a keen interest in developing services within a forward thinking transitional environment.

You will continue to hold a registration with the GMC including being on the special register for psychiatry.
