Job summary
NHS Shared Business Services offer a new, automated Fixed Assets and Lease Accounting system, which is compliant, efficient and accurate. Designed specifically for the NHS, it replaces outdated and error-prone manual spreadsheets and processes with an intuitive, cloud-based, interoperable system.We are seeking an inspirational, confident and intuitive leader with a background in systems accounting where analysing big data sets, working on multiple reconciliations, implementing depreciation methods in NHS financial management systems on a monthly basis are business as usual. As the main point of contact for the team, you should be able to act proactively, with minimal direction whilst using your initiative ensuring we delivery a smooth timely service, whilst efficiently collaborating with NHS clients ensuring contractual deliverables are consistently met.This role will be remote with one day per month n the Leeds office!
Main duties of the job
- Lead and develop a team of 8 Fixed Assets & Lease Accounting Specialists, including a Training & Operational Lead and 2 Senior Analysts
- Oversee the daily management of the Fixed Assets & Lease Accounting operation and make sure services are delivered in line with targets/SLAs to meet contractual deadlines & IFRS standards
- Support the team in preparation of the finance systems and templates for monthly reconciliations, including reporting of portfolio performance, ensuring accuracy and audit control in accordance with strict reporting deadlines & information requirements
- Work alongside the Product Owner to design and develop user-friendly templates, streamline processes and standardise reporting to enhance financial efficiency and accuracy
- Provide user support and troubleshoot issues related to the accounting system and outputs. Act as a subject matter expert between A2R, IT/Tech and other collaborators in delivering requirements on new projects
- Handle internal control mechanisms, such as Risks Logs, SOPs & audits, safeguard compliance of IT & GDPR policies ensuring systems are in place for tracking, monitoring, and highlighting team performance/non-compliance
- Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture, setting clear goals, including delivery of annual objectives, effective 121s, following absence and performance management policies
- Handle partner concerns through to resolution, ensuring a good relationship with clients and provide a best-in-class service
