Job summary
Procurement can be simple, flexible, and efficient when you choose to work with NHS Shared Business Services!Every year the construction and estates team offer support locally, regionally, or nationally to thousands of clients across the NHS and wider public sector. Our dedication extends throughout the life of our clients procurement process with support at each stage tailored to their needs. Acting as a trusted commercial 'go to' partner for our clients at all levels, the frameworks are well established and widely used by NHS and wider public sector clients, however there is always something new on the horizon.You will be the leader with vision in the field, utilising your expert additional knowledge to work closely with internal and external partners to ensure cohesive strategies in the delivery of portfolio framework agreements. Supported by an established and driven team, responsible for initiating and coordinating research, the PCM will support the development of strategic sourcing strategies.With the ability to develop and mentor others, this is a development opportunity, something we are keen to promote! Although based within our Construction & Estates area, you will have the opportunity to work within our other categories too!This position is predominantly home based, with collaborative onsite meetings being held once per month but with additional travel to supplier and client sites when required (estimated at once per week/4 times per month).
Main duties of the job
What you'll be doing:
- Working with other government agencies and social services to identify areas for product/service standardisation across health and government related service settings e.g. home care, schools, prisons, defence etc.
- Leading multiple programmes and developing collaborative relationship management regimes with NHS and public sector suppliers, ensuring maximum return on investment on commercial spend across the whole of the public sector.
- Reviewing and negotiating draft contracts for category area.
- Actively managing the marketplace through development of key strategies for supplier and contract management.
- Pursuing procurement excellence through the implementation of efficient and effective procurement projects within key markets.
- Developing, maintaining and leading professional relationships.
- Collaborating closely with colleagues to ensure compliance in the use of agreements.
What youll bring:
- Experience or knowledge of working with the NHS and/or Public Sector
- Knowledge of UK Public Contracts Regulations (PCR2015)
- Background within construction
- Degree educated/equivalent
- CIPS Level 4- 6 or working towards
- IT literate (experienced user of tools such as: Ariba/Jaggaer/Bravo/Atamis/Coupa) Advanced
It would be great if you had:
- Experience and/or knowledge of NHS Terms and Conditions
- Knowledge of Healthcare Categories
