Job summary
As the Lead Practitioner within the Greenbrook Urgent Treatment Centre, you will have existing good experience of health assessment and the ability to undertake consultations to treat or refer patients within your clinical skillset.
The role will be supported by a variable rota covering weekday evenings/night and all day over weekends and bank holidays.
Main duties of the job
You will line manage and support the UTC Practitioners, working closely with the Medical and Operational Leads for the service to raise the clinical standards in line with Clinical Governance and CQC expectations.
As a Lead Practitioner you will -
- Work closely with the Operational Team Leader/Shift Manager to monitor and address clinical risk with the queue.
- Proactively prioritise cases and navigate calls to the most appropriate clinician, ensuring local pathways / resources are utilised effectively within an appropriate timeframe.
- Take clinical responsibility for patient journeys / end points of care.
- Communicate with all staff and have an awareness of all their roles and responsibilities, providing real time management of issues, concerns, or incidents.
- Initiate escalation procedures and liaise with Bronze on call / Senior Management Team.
- Act as a role model for all staff and an ambassador to the service.
- Attend appropriate meetings, undertaken audit, assist with investigation
- Provide clinical mentorship
