Job summary
Working as a Nutritionist on ABLs specialist and targeted weight management programmes for ABLs central online weight management service you will be working with adults and/or families to support, motivate and advise those who are currently overweight or obese. You will be passionate about working with individuals to begin the life changing processes necessary for permanent and continued weight loss and weight maintenance.
Main duties of the job
As a member of the ABL Health team, you will play a key role in delivering our adult and family weight management programmes through a blend of one-to-one and group sessions, both in the community and via digital platforms such as Zoom or phone appointments. You will lead multi-disciplinary assessments in collaboration with GPs and psychotherapists to develop tailored, person-centred care plans. Using evidence-based approaches, youll educate clients on nutrition, physical activity, and behaviour change while applying motivational interviewing and positive psychology techniques.
You will monitor progress through regular consultations and accurate data tracking using Microsoft Excel, supporting referrals to Tier 4 bariatric services where appropriate. The role also includes co-producing engaging session materials with clients and stakeholders, delivering specialised nutrition content such as Low Carb or Time Restricted Eating pathways, and running pharmacological groups like Orlistat and Saxenda.
Additionally, youll be involved in service promotion through community events and social media, contribute case studies for contract reporting, support new staff training, and maintain detailed records in line with ABL Health policies. Youll be expected to manage your workload efficiently, demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development (CPD), and participate in regular team meetings, clinical supervision, and wider service improvement initiatives.
