Job summary

This is a leadership role where the post holder will have a real influence on the clinical and operational excellence of the service. The post holder will take a pro-active lead in ensuring we build great relationships, partnerships and alliances, that our data is robust, and will support local team leads and supporting specialist advisors to deliver outcomes that benefit clients referred to the service. They will be responsible for line management of staff working across Gloucestershire.

Main duties of the job

As part of this role, you will oversee the operations and KPIs of the service, ensuring robust systems and processes are in place to support seamless service delivery across both administration and frontline operations. You will manage area leads, coaching them to effectively set up and manage clinics, use data to inform service development, and implement performance monitoring for their respective areas or projects. The role involves team management across various Healthy Lifestyle Services (HLS) programmes and regions, capacity planning to ensure services are running optimally, and taking the lead on monitoring and interpreting data through Power BI and internal databases. You will manage daily operational issues related to performance, area leads, and data, contribute to quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc reporting in collaboration with the Head of Service, and oversee quality assurance for delivery staff and record keeping. Additionally, you will support integrated governance procedures, including clinical governance, ensuring timely and efficient resolution of actions. The role also involves overseeing staff onboarding and training, ensuring all team members are familiar with systems and competent in their roles. Strong data analysis skills are essential for monitoring outcomes and informing strategic decisions. The postholder may also be required to undertake other reasonable duties as requested.

ABL Health has launched the new Healthy Lifestyle service in Gloucestershire, commissioned by Gloucestershire County Council . This transformative service seeks to work collaboratively with communities to transform the lives of the local population. The service will support residents to help them lose weight, stop smoking, reduce alcohol consumption, get more active and improve their wellbeing - all embedded in sustainable behaviour change. The service will also deliver the 1001 days programme supporting families with healthy lifestyles through pregnancy to childs second birthday, as well as the Healthy Workplace award scheme

Your key responsibilities will be:

Drive, enhance and implement the vision of ABL Health and HLS Gloucestershire amongst staff, partners and stakeholders

Lead the planning and implementation of the HLS Gloucestershire including Admin Function & Area Leads

Lead the planning and implementation of the HLS Gloucestershire Reporting

Use reporting tools (such as Power BI) to inform and manage effective service delivery

Ensure high quality delivery and governance within the service

Contract performance, presenting, and budget management.

Chairing meetings, managing team effectively

The Head of Operations will provide operational leadership and management with overall responsibility and accountability for delivering outputs and outcomes of the service . The post holder will lead a multi-disciplinary team to ensure that delivery outcomes are achieved.

The post holder will ensure services are delivered and developed to provide high quality, safe and effective packages of support that respond to the needs of the client and have a positive impact on the wider community in accordance with contractual obligations and the philosophy of ABL.

Establish and embed robust systems and processes to support seamless service delivery, from managing the whole administration process to frontline operations.
