Job summary

ABL are seeking a dynamic and inspirational leader and manager who will be bold and proactive, developing a team that will share the service's vision and aspirations.

Most importantly you will be able to lead a team of nutritionists to deliver the bespoke NHS Low calorie diet programme to people living in Nottinghamshire. You will also have your own caseload of clients taking part in the programme. The role includes performing performance and KPI reviews, writing reports to the commissioners and working alongside our ICS partners to effectively roll out, recruit and deliver this programme.

You will work collaboratively with teams across the business and will receive support from the professional lead and clinical director.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for Project Lead Senior Nutritionists to effectively drive and lead the team, service delivery, change and project development for the Low Calorie Diet Programmes. You will be passionate in delivering high quality services and have experience of working as part of larger integrated health and social care system.

The Low Calorie Diet programme that you will be managing aims to support people who are overweight and living with type 2 diabetes to achieve weight loss, reduce their health risk factors, decrease the amount of medication they need and for some, even put their diabetes into remission. Overview of Qualifications and Experience:

Degree in an accredited Nutrition course

Member of the UKVRN with the title Registered Nutritionist (RNutr) or Associate Nutritionist (ANutr)

3 Years of experience in delivering nutrition based information

Ability to demonstrate leadership when introducing change.

Experience in working with people living with type 2 diabetes

Experience in working with overweight/obese adults

Key Task

You will provide support and guidance to clients on the T2DR programme on a face-to-face basis in one-to-one clinics over different phases of the programme. Clients will sometimes require ad hoc support on the phone or via text messages. Key to this is motivational interviewing and behavioural change skills, working through any potential barriers to adhering to the different phases of the programme and keeping patients committed to achieving their outcomes.

You will have the opportunity to attend monthly clinical supervision sessions and training sessions in order to upskill and develop whilst in the role. You will be supported by a team of specialist clinicians throughout and provided with relevant training to help you succeed.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • To work as part of a team to deliver the T2DR programme face-to-face to individuals with type 2 diabetes, carrying out telephone consultations as well as communicating with clients via email and secure messaging service
  • To use behaviour changes skills to support clients throughout each phase of the programme by following the guidelines and training provided
  • Taking accurate measurements for instance weight, blood pressure and blood glucose
  • Respond to clients using a variety of communication methods
  • To liaise with supervising dietitian and/or GP regarding any nutritional or medical query as appropriate
  • General day-to-day admin duties to ensure all data is captured in an accurate and timely manner
  • To attend mandatory training and be an active participant in staff meetings

To work as part of the team and on your own.

You will complete a range of managerial reports, service management task

Provide training and assurance to stakeholders and internal colleagues on the programme and required organisational change

Complete comprehensive reporting for commissioner, senior management and external provider

Lead on the invoicing and venue management for clinics and nutritional products

Organise and arrange database checks, reports and evaluation

Complete supervision, staff management and team meetings on a weekly and monthly basis
