Job responsibilities

Deliver ABL Healths adult/family weight management programme including nutrition, behaviour change and exercise delivery to groups and though one-to-ones, in the community and through digital methods such as zoom/phone appointments.

Lead on the delivery of client centred assessments

Deliver evidence-based education around nutrition, physical activity and behavioural change asadvised by ABL Health team and in line with ABL Health programme curriculums.

Deliver programmes with a client centred approach using skills of positive psychology andmotivational interviewing

Monitor clients progress through regular consultation and with the use of Microsoft excel,identifying specific treatment for those not on track to achieve their goals

Work with clients and stakeholders to co-produce in session materials

Contribute to the contract performance report by submitting regular case studies to the project lead

Contribute to and support ABL Healths social media pages

Contribute to training and support new staff and volunteers

Working with individuals and groups using SMART goal setting

Keep detailed files, recording data accurately, ensuring all forms and other documentation iscompleted correctly

Undertake and complete all mandatory and additional skills training as required

Have a thorough understanding of ABL Health policies and procedures

Engage and recruit potential clients at promotional and community events

Develop curriculum resources to be signed off by the service developmentteam and utilised in projects

Contribute to ongoing service development needs

Build community links and partnership working to encourage new referrals into the service andmaintain close working relationships with other community services.

To attend and actively participate in team and wider company meetings, such as MDT

Be able to organise own workload in order of priority and deadline dates, daily administration tasksand other work-related activities.

To demonstrate personal and professional development in line with ethos of lifelong learning

To work within the framework of clinical governance in order to maintain and improve patient care,quality and efficiency

To be able to travel flexibly across the project area

Standard Information

Information Governance

Employees of ABL Health must comply with the provisions of GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. The

postholder must not; either during the course of their employment, or following termination of their

employment, disclose any information relating to service users or employees, or of the lawful business

practices, of the organisation.

The postholder will be required, when and where appropriate to the role, to comply with the processing of

requests under the Freedom of Information Act 2000

The postholder must comply with ABLs policies that protect the information assets of the organisation from

unauthorised disclosure, modification, destruction, inappropriate access or use. The postholder will be

responsible for maintaining the clinical and/or corporate records that fall within the remit of this role to the

standards in ABLs records management policies, and data quality processes and standards.

Health & Safety

Compliance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 the postholder is required to fulfil a proactive role

towards the management of risk in all of their actions. This entails the risk assessment of all situations, the

taking of appropriate actions and reporting of all incidents, near misses and hazards, and a statutory duty of

care for their own personal safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions.

ABL has a responsibility to ensure that all children / young people and adults are adequately safeguarded and

protected. As a consequence, all ABLs employees, temporary staff and volunteers are required to adhere to

Training

The postholder must attend any training that is identified as mandatory to their role.

Qualifications

Essential

• Educated to degree level or relevant equivalent experience.
• CIMSPA (previously REPS) qualified Level 2 Gym instructor/Group exercise award or equivalent
• Registration with CIMSPA (this can be obtained within 6 months of employment)

Desirable

• Sports Coaching qualification
• REPS qualified Level 3 award of GP/Exercise Referral or equivalent (willingness to be trained within 4 months of starting)

Experience

Essential

• Experience of delivering groups and/or one-to-one nutrition and behaviour change
• Experience of delivering health promotion / public health interventions in community settings
• Experience working with hard to reach groups and tackling health inequalities
• Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team

Desirable

• Experience of delivering groups and/or one-to-one specialist weight management interventions to children, young people and adults
• Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team
• Experience of planning and delivering appropriate health interventions specific to individual requirements
• Experience of delivering health/weight interventions to children and young people

Job Specific Requirements

Essential

• The ability to travel independently across the organisational footprint
• Work flexibly and adapt to suit service need including evening and occasional weekend work as required
• Must be willing to undertake an Enhanced DBS check

Skills and Knowledge

Essential

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly with people
• Excellent administration, record keeping and data collection skills
• IT literate, preferably with experience using Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
• Must have a high attention to detail
• Pro-active approach and ability to work on own initiative
• Ability to manage stressful situations and cope in a fast paced work environment
• To cope with unpredictable work patterns and work well under pressure
• To be able to work as part of a team and independently as required

Desirable

• Knowledge of the Stockport health and social care environment area and an understanding of the challenges or barriers to behaviour change within the Stockport community
• Knowledge of childrens safeguarding and child protection issues and processes
• Experience of delivering parenting programmes
• Experience of contributing to the supervision of staff/ volunteers/ students
• Experience of developing public health educational materials
• An understanding of different social media platforms
• An understanding of how social media can support positive behaviour change
