Job summary

Since delivering its first public event in late 2019 Flippin Pain has grown significantly in terms of reach, influence, credibility, and reputation. As a result, we have been able to undertake more campaign work, delivering more impact to more people affected by persistent pain.

To support the continued growth of the campaign we are now looking for a passionate, creative, multi-skilled and dynamic individual with an interest in pain science and management and public health to join our team in a newly created role of Campaign Manager

You will work alongside the Campaign Director and a range of other internal and external stakeholders taking on a rich and diverse range of responsibilities including:

- Co-ordinating the creative co-design of Flippin Pain events, activities, and other projects to align with campaign values and objectives

- Overseeing the successful undertaking of Flippin Pain events and activities within agreed timeline and budget

- Supporting the design and execution of campaign evaluation

- Contributing to the influence and reputation of the campaign, supporting the creation of content for print, web, and social media.

Main duties of the job

One of the straplines of Flippin Pain is: Engage, Educate, Empower.

Our ambition is to ENGAGE with as many people as possible. To deliver pain EDUCATION in ways that are accessible and relevant to a diverse audience. And to EMPOWER those affected by persistent pain to regain control and take steps towards recovery from the impact pain has on their lives.

Above all else you will be passionate about supporting Flippin Pain in achieving this aim.

In addition to your enthusiasm for the role you will:

- Be an excellent communicator, able to quickly form relationships with a diverse range of clients and colleagues

- Have a contemporary understanding of pain science and the challenges faced by a range of stakeholders due to misinformation and misunderstanding associated with an outdated, biomedical model of pain.

- Have experience of working within healthcare, public health, or charity sectors

- Have experience of leading a group in the successful delivery of a project, from the creation of project specification through to achievement of project KPIs

About us

Unfortunately, despite the alarming prevalence and impact of persistent pain the prevailing narrative about what is it, why it often persists, and how best to manage it- is awash with misinformation and misunderstanding. In short, misunderstanding and misinformation in relation to pain are compounding an already stark and spiralling problem.

Flippin Pain is a public health campaign with the aim of changing (or flippin) the way people think about, talk about, and treat persistent pain. We know that changing how we think about pain can change how we manage it, and even how it feels.

Flippin Pain deliver events and activities and create resources to bring a modern understanding of pain science to those who need it most those affected by persistent pain and the communities in which they live.

We are committed to working with a range of stakeholders to deliver community engagement and maximise the impact of the work we do. In particular, we champion the voice of lived experience and consider it to be of equal value to that of the many distinguished academics, researchers, and healthcare professionals who contribute to the campaign.
