Cotswold
Surgical Partners is a Consultant-led and Care Quality Commission regulated
provider of NHS and Private Dermatology and Plastic Surgery in locations across Wiltshire. Though we
currently operate from two locations, this role will primarily be based at our
centre in Royal Wootton Bassett with periods of cover required (for annual leave) from our community clinic based at Spa Medical Centre in Melksham.
We offer a
community-based skin surgery and dermatology service, commissioned by both NHS
Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire Integrated Care Board and
NHS Gloucestershire Integrated Care Board. We also support NHS skin surgery
patients referred from the Great Western Hospital in Swindon, North Bristol NHS
Trust, Gloucester Royal Hospital and the Royal United Hospital in Bath. This
covers day case surgical procedures, outpatient procedures and routine
assessment clinics.
Housing two
fully functioning day case operating theatres and five clinic rooms suitable
for outpatient and minor operative procedures, we offer a skin cancer
diagnostic and treatment service, whilst also expanding our range of services
and treatments to meet the growing needs of our patients locally. Currently
these include not only dermatological services and dermatology outpatient
procedures but aesthetic skin care too.
The elective
workload includes mainly skin cancer surgery, from operating sessions,
assessment and review clinics and attendance of MDT meetings.
Main duties of the job
The post holder
is expected to actively participate in the provision of a high-quality skin
cancer and dermatology service.
You will be
expected to provide lesion assessment and review clinics, operating sessions
and attendance at virtual MDTs. You will be expected to review histology
results and contact patients and GPs accordingly.
You will be
expected to work semi independently and be able to plan effective treatment of
individual patients.
As part of this role, you will be required
to assist with annual excision margin/quality assurance audits.

Working hours:
- This is a full-time role, condensed to four working days per week (8 sessions). The working days would be variable over the working week between Monday and Saturday inclusive.
- The working hours are 7.45am to 18.00pm, equating to 9.75 hours per day, 39 hours per week. A 30-minute unpaid lunch break is included between sessions.
- Operating sessions are planned as 8.30 to 12.30pm and 13.30pm to 18.00pm, each of 4-hours.
- Three of the days per week would be surgical/operative days with two sessions per day.
- The fourth day per week would be split to accommodate an assessment / review clinic in the morning and then dedication administration time in the afternoon. This is to provide sufficient time for clinical triaging of new incoming referrals and histology oversight, as well as any required attendance at MDT meetings.
- A three day working week may be considered for the right candidate, comprising of 2 days of surgical/operative sessions with the third day as a split clinic/administration day.
Working location/s:
- This is a multisite contract. The role will primarily be based at our main facility at Unit 13 Interface Business Park, Royal Wootton Bassett, Wiltshire, SN4 8SY. However, cover may be required during periods of annual leave, for example, from our community clinic based at Spa Medical Centre in Melksham.
Salary:
- £110,000 to £120,000 dependent upon experience.

- You would report direct into the General Manager and Directorate.
