Job summary

This is a role where youll be an influential senior leader responsible for the delivery of high-quality patient care and professional practice at clinic level and working with peers at group level. The clinical professional team at Care is diverse and includes nurses, midwives, sonographers, paramedics, ODPs and HCAs. Youll spend your day leading the team of clinical professionals and developing your team in line with our careers development framework. Youll be coordinating the day-to-day activities of the team ensuring high quality patient care and overseeing continuous improvement projects. Youll be close to the teams activities and to the patients as youll undertake clinical duties as part of this role.

Main duties of the job

You have leadership experience as a Clinical Manager and you are motivated to progress your career further by working alongside a large multidisciplinary clinical and operational team which focuses on delivering strategic priorities at local and group level.

It would be great if you have a good understanding of fertility care, and have transferable skills from experience in other clinical settings. You have excellent communication skills and can engage teams to ensure high clinical standards and collaborative working. It would be desirable if youre proficient in scanning.

As the Nursing and Clinical Professionals Manager you will lead the Nursing, Midwifery and Clinical professional team within the clinic setting in partnership with the Clinic Director and Clinic Medical Director as part of the senior management team. You will be responsible for meeting the needs of patients and their partners attending the clinic and as an influential senior leader, be accountable for the delivery of high-quality patient care and professional practice at clinic level. You will lead the local quality agenda, providing assurance to drive quality improvement methodology to promote patient experience. Role accountabilities and duties: Strategy & Planning You will understand and proactively deliver the organisations strategic priorities. You will engage with leadership forums, attending, relevant meetings to facilitate, inform and influence the organisations delivery of the strategic direction at both group and clinic level. As a key member of the clinic senior leadership team, you will be involved in and drive the delivery of exceptional service and patient care. You will participate in the senior nurse and clinical professionals network meeting, and will contribute key reflections from your own quality improvement projects, service developments, and resource planning to promote clinic utilisation and optimum patient experience. You will support the maintenance of your staffing establishment tools, to generate a training needs analysis plan to promote optimum competencies and development within your team, and to promote employee engagement through annual PDRs and training. You will identify talented team members who you will support to gain additional competencies to progress onto advanced practitioners in fertility care. Quality Lead on clinical professional practice standards to ensure patient safety, effectiveness, and experience. Understand quality data and information used to evaluate and demonstrate care delivery and patient outcomes. Oversee and monitor the patient experience, using and acting on feedback mechanisms. Oversee the management of patient complaints, implementing processes to avoid formal complaints. Demonstrating how your remedial actions will help to promote patient and service user experience. In partnership with the clinic Medical Director lead on the quality improvement plan for the clinic and oversee the delivery of the plan. In partnership with the clinic Person Responsible ensure that the clinic is compliant with regulatory standards and is always inspection ready. In partnership with the CD, and Medical Director, ensure best practice is followed in relation to the use of Controlled Drugs, at your clinic, and that audits can demonstrate any improvements that are made. Be responsible for Infection Prevention and Control at clinic level. Ensure that the clinic environment is conducive to safe patient care and offers a quality patient experience. Ensure that cleaning standards are monitored and adhered to. In partnership with the clinic Medical Director identify areas for improvement to develop and oversee the delivery of continuous quality improvement projects using evidence-based QI methodology for engaging and sustainable change. In partnership with the clinic multidisciplinary team identify and share areas of excellence for learning and recognition. Operational Work in partnership with the Clinic Director to develop and deliver the yearly operational plan. Coordinate and supervise the day-to-day activities of the team, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness. Input data, find information on the clinical patient database and follow the system pathways to ensure accurate record keeping and efficient and safe processes. Embrace developments and new systems to maximise results and efficiency, suggesting new ideas for improvements. Proactively use the Datix incident reporting system to record any incidents and near misses. Act with integrity, being open and honest so that we learn from each other and achieve better outcomes. Undertake mandatory training and actively participate in the learning pathways provided by the company. Handle patient data responsibly, by completing data protection training and following company requirements with data protection and information governance. People Lead the development and implementation of the clinical professionals workforce planning to support the operational plan, ensuring the establishment and skills mix meets the needs of the service. Manage and / or oversee, if delegated, the clinical professional`s rota, ensuring there are appropriately competent and skilled staff on duty to deliver safe, effective care. Undertake a yearly training needs analysis and work in partnership with the Learning & Development lead to commission education and training programmes. Provide leadership and supervision to the clinical professional workforce to ensure their continuing professional development and ability to revalidate. Recruit, induct, develop and assess competency levels of team members. Take part, in the virtual assessment of Daisy Award nominations. Finance & Resources In partnership with the Clinic Director be involved with setting the budget for the clinic, forecasting spending to meet the workforce requirements needed to delivery high quality effective care and experience. Monitor expenditure and forecast spending aligned to the clinic budget, putting in mitigation to address cost pressures. Support the Clinical Director and SMT colleagues, during ICB tender preparations, to demonstrate the clinical effectiveness and the clinics patient experience. Clinical Be an active member of the clinical team, providing advice and information to patients. Undertake clinical duties in an outpatient setting and daycase setting including the procedure room. Ensure the clinical pathways, operational processes, registered body codes of conduct and the HFEA Code of Practice are followed by the whole clinical professionals team. Be responsible for the management of medicines in the clinic. Governance and safety As a member of the multi-disciplinary senior team, ensure that all processes are followed in accordance with the standard operating procedures. Maintain accurate and timely records. Ensure that the role of Nursing and Clinical Professionals Manager is performed in compliance with the HFEA Code of Practice. Undertake Continuing Professional Development appropriate for the maintenance of professional certification/revalidation with the NMC.
