Job summary

Reporting to the Lead Finance Business Partner, the Senior Finance Business Partner works alongside the Service Development Team to support our Ophthalmology Joint Venture (OJV) businesses. As a Senior Business Partner, you will be responsible for supporting the business by producing insightful financial information to drive profitable decision making and support the future long-term growth of the business and the OJVs.

Main duties of the job

You'll be directly partnering with several OJVs and we'd expect you to travel to each of these sites at least once a quarter for finance planning purposes, as well as for any ad-hoc business-related reasons.

You will be responsible for building relationships with the wider business and key stakeholders across the OJVs and continuing to develop the role as a trusted partner and commercial advisor to a number of SME businesses. Role holders should have strong interpersonal skills for interaction with the Newmedica senior management team and OJV partners.

We're looking for someone who is self-driven, and who can easily pick up assigned projects, own them and be accountable to deliver results. You'll be self-motivated to provide excellent levels of support to our OJV services and have a true client centred approach.

Job responsibilities

Reporting to the Lead Finance Business Partner, the Senior Finance Business Partner works alongside the Service Development Team to support our Ophthalmology Joint Venture (OJV) businesses.

As a trusted Business Partner, this role will be responsible for building relationships and becoming a trusted partner and commercial advisor to our Ophthalmology Joint Venture Businesses. Providing analysis to guide decision-making, communicate timely financial performance, highlight opportunities to drive profit and growth, and support data driven-strategy development across multiple OJVs.

The role holder should have strong interpersonal skills for interaction with our Ophthalmology Partners (both Clinical and Operational) plus Newmedicas Senior Management Team.

They will need to be self-driven, ensuring you can pick up assigned projects, own them and be accountable to deliver results.

The role offers hybrid working with travel to the Nottingham office weekly and London office as required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Business Partner for 6-10 OJVs, working closely with the Lead Finance Business Partner, Head of Service Development and Operational Partners, developing deep understanding of the operating models, market environment to contribute effectively to OJV business strategy and performance
  • Provide analytical financial reporting to drive business growth and efficiencies, in both profit and cash
  • Deliver robust financial modelling to evaluate the potential impact of various business decisions, including strategic initiatives, expansions, investments, and operational changes
  • Leading Quarterly Business Reviews for Joint Venture Partners, delivering key messages to partners to provide clear, actionable insights. Including;

Provide insight and analysis into the underlying drivers of OJV business performance

Providing recommendations on potential growth opportunities

Review and challenge drivers of performance (sales, profit, cash, referrals, KPIs)

Understand latest commercial and competitive landscape, identify and present any potential risks and mitigation strategies

  • Supporting OJV Annual planning (Budget) for all established OJVs, plus financial support for the OJV strategic 5-year planning process
  • Working with Data and Analytics to track and report KPIs, developing new metrics to measure success effectively
  • Provide financial and commercial support and advice to the wider support office, including marketing, referrals, governance, HR, procurement
  • Improve the financial awareness and understanding of non-financial managers and OJV partners
