We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Learning Disability Nurse to join our Mental Health team at HMP Highpoint, a category C Prison located in the village of Stradishall in Suffolk,
Highpoint is spilt into 2 sites, the North Building has around 390 males and the South Building has around 950 males. Both sites have designated Healthcare Departments which you will be based in. Highpoint Prison offers- Free parking

- Monday - Sunday service
- 37.5 hours per week
- Between the hours of 8am 6.15pm
- rota's are done 1 month in advance
- 1 weekend in 4
Salary
This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary between £43,609 - £49,175 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As a Senior Learning Disability Nurse your responsibilities will vary. You will
- Have responsibility for a caseload and be accountable for all aspects of delivering a nursing service for adults with learning disabilities/ challenging behaviour, within the criminal justice setting.
- Be working with adults whose behaviours have resulted in their offending and coming into contact with the criminal justice system
- Work with the multi-disciplinary team to undertake person centred specialist behavioural assessments, planning and co-ordination of positive non aversive behavioural approaches to service users.

Qualifications required
- Registered Nurse NMC Learning Disabilities
- Evidence of Continued Professional Development
- Substantial experience working with adults with Learning disabilities with a range of clinical presentations
- Evidence of working Learning disability health within a community or inpatient setting.
Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
