You will be a highly valued member of our team bringing your expertise and skills in non-Obstetric Gynaecology procedures.   This is a substantive employed position, but part time or full time hours can be considered. As a Practice Plus Group Consultant you will have access to great facilities in a well-structured and relaxed environment. We offer high quality day case and inpatient treatments in a wide range of specialties and deliver excellent clinical care.  Reporting to the Hospital Medical Director, you will manage and lead a multi-professional team and perform a range of non-Obstetric Gynaecological procedures; extensive laparoscopic experience is essential for this role.  You will be treating both NHS and private patients referred to the Hospital, working in accordance with hospital protocols and working practices. This will include providing in and out-patient care for patients with common gynaecological problems such as menstrual disorders and urogynaecological symptoms. As a UK registered medical professional, with a listing on the Specialist GMC register, your commitment to the highest standards of care will match ours.  

Main duties of the job

Procedures include:

  • minor/intermediate procedures of the vagina, cervix, uterus, and fallopian tubes such as hysteroscopy, endometrial sampling, endometrial ablations, laparoscopy, tubal sterilizations, insertion/removal of MIRENAs etc
  • Major procedures to include Vaginal Hysterectomy, Colporrhaphy, abdominal hysterectomy, fascial sling etc
  • Skills in the management of endometriosis would be an advantage.
  • Skills to be able to do total laparoscopic hysterectomy, laparoscopic assisted vaginal hysterectomy, laparoscopic excision of endometriosis and hysteroscopic resection of fibroids would be an advantage.
