UNLOCK YOUR BEST WORK LIFE + make a difference for every patient Due to the increase of examinations and treatments we are now offering to our patients, our small, busy yet fun Radiology Team is in need of an additional Radiology Department Assistant to offer support within the Radiology Department, based at our Southampton hospital. You'll be working closely with the Sonographers and Radiographers, as part of an integrated team assisting with the delivery of safe, high quality services to patients and users of our Radiology service.
Main duties of the job
As on our our Radiology Department Assistants youll be effectively managing our patient flow into and out of the department, ensuring patients are in place and where they should be at the the right times. This will sometimes require you to escorting some patients from waiting areas to imaging modality rooms and back again, being required to remain whilst imaging is taking place, to support the Sonographer with any documentation needed investigation assistance or equipment fetched. As the Radiology Department Assistant, you will be conscious of health, safety and hygiene aspects in the department. Not only will you look to make sure the department is clean, you will monitor and look for potential hazards, ensuring they are made safe or the issue is quickly bright to the attention or the Superintendent Sonographer. In addition, youll assist with the management of stock and equipment, ensuring good levels and ordering when appropriate, pre-empting any shortfalls. This is a full-time permanent position (37.5 hpw) Working a 4 day on a rota basis from Monday to Saturday 08:00 to 18:00
About us
We see the appointed Radiology Department Assistant as having worked within a hospital / clinical environment and might have already completed the NVQ level 1&2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent. Youll be an effective communicator at all levels, both written and verbal and will be an able administrator, computer literate, familiar with accurately updating patient records and databases with the ability to pick up new systems easily. A strong team player equally able to plan and prioritise own workload, with good understanding of Infection Control and Health and Safety issues relating to health care.
