We have an exciting opportunity for a Bank Mental Health Nurse to join our Mental Health team at HMP Gartree, a category B men's prison, located in Market Harborough, Leicestershire. The prison houses approximately 640 patients where we deliver the primary care, mental health and substance misuse services.
In this role you'll be working with a multi-disciplinary team that will support you and help you succeed.
Hours
Monday to Sunday - 08:30 - 16:30
This is a Bank position and youll receive a bank hourly rate of £23 per hour (weekdays) or £24.79 (weekends)

Main duties of the job
As a Bank Mental Health Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will
- Be responsible for assessments and ongoing management of our patients mental health needs.
- Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team as an autonomous practitioner managing a caseload of patients, assessing their physical, social and psychological needs to develop a holistic health care plan.
- Contribute to our nursing strategy and vision to; Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
- Deliver non-judgemental care, building therapeutic relationships and promoting professional boundaries.
- Play an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patients care following our policies and procedures and always considering safeguarding.

- Experience of working within mental health settings, developing knowledge and understanding of this patient group

reviewing care plans, and developing treatment options. You will undertake medication rounds, and assess
and treat patients who may have undergone traumatic experiences and may be
distressed. You will assess patients
health needs using an evidence based framework and be able to risk assess use
sound clinical knowledge, as well as Open, maintain, close and take part in
reviews of individuals being managed under the Prison Suicide and Self Harm
risk management system known as Assessment, Care in Custody and Teamwork
(ACCT).
You will contribute to our nursing strategy and vision to;
Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seeking
out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised
and informed by what matters to them.
You will work with individuals providing advice, support and information
and manage a case load of patients.
Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a real difference. You will monitor therapeutic responses to
medication and potential side effects liaising with prescribers as required.
Inspire excellence by forging strong links with our partners and
stakeholders and providing a service that people can trust, feel safe within,
and feel proud of.

continuous quality improvement, embedding a culture of shared learning.
