Bank Driver - Barnstaple

Job summary

We are looking for a Driver to join our growing team at the Devon Out of Hours (OOH) service on a Bank 0 hour a week basis.  The Devon OOH service provides advice, information and treatment for NHS patients who become unwell during the out-of-hours period when their own GP surgery is closed. The OOH service operates throughout a number of locations within Devon so occasional travel may be required, however your main base will be in our North Devon and District Hospital site in Barnstaple. Within this job you will cover our Driver position, where you will chauffeur GPs and nurses to and from patients homes typically when theyre unable to see their usual clinician. This is not an emergency service and you will need to follow all the normal rules of the road. It will be part of your role to ensure the safety of our clinicians and medical equipment, so you may be asked to escort them to the patients front door.

Main duties of the job

As we we are an OOH service you will be required to work unsociable hours across evening, night and weekends.   In order for you to be considered for the job, as a minimum we are looking for you to:

• Have a good standard of education
• Have previous experience with problem solving and troubleshooting
• Have the ability to make decisions under pressure
• Have a good knowledge of the local area and good map reading skills
• Have a full UK driving license and access to your own vehicle
