We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mental Health Nurse to join our Mental Health team at HMP Onley, a category C Prison located in Rugby, Warwickshire.
In this role you will have the opportunity to provide the highest standards of healthcare to our patients, without having to compromise on efficiency and quality.
Hours
Monday to Sunday: 08:00 - 18:00
You will be working 4 days a week, with the expectation of working 1 in 4 weekends.
Salary
This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £ 47,466 per annum - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As a Senior Mental Health Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will
- Be responsible for assessment and ongoing management of our patients mental health needs.
- Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team as an autonomous practitioner managing a caseload of patients, assessing their physical, social and psychological needs to develop a holistic health care plan.
- Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
- Deliver non-judgemental care, building therapeutic relationships and promoting professional boundaries. You will play an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patients care following our policies and procedures and always considering safeguarding.

Requirements
- NMC Registered Mental Health Nurse
- Experience of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
- A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
- Understanding of mental health policy including clinical governance and the quality and outcomes framework, along with national standards such as NICE
Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
