We have an exciting opportunity for a Primary Care Night Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Oakwood, a category C Prison located in Wolverhampton.

HMP Oakwood is one of the largest prison in the UK, housing over 1,500 men.    The site offers: 
  • Free Parking
  • Gym Access
  • Development and Training opportunities
  • Various shift patterns
Hours:    This is a part time role with the below fixed days and hours to be worked. 
  • 23.5 hours per week 
  • Thursday night 11.5hrs - 7.45pm - 7.15am
  • Friday night 12hrs 7.45pm - 7.45am 

This position is part time, youll receive an annual salary of £41673 FTE, this works out to be £26116 per annum pro rota.

Main duties of the job

As a Night Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse led service and prevent hospital admissions.
  • Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening.
  • Use your skills and knowledge to deliver nurse led clinics to your patient group whilst being supported by a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Contribute to our nursing strategy and vision to; Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
  • Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a real difference, as defined throughout our bespoke Health in Justice competency framework

  • Registered nurse Adult - NMC 
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
  • Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
