We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Primary Care Nurse to join our Mental Health team at HMP Highpoint, a category C Prison located in the village of Stradishall in Suffolk, 

Highpoint is a male prison with a capacity of 1370 males.

Hours: 

• Monday - Sunday service 37.5 hours per week 
• 7.45am - 18:15pm 
• Every other weekend and bank holiday also included as part of rota 
• 4 week rolling rota 
• Happy to discuss lower hours 

Salary

This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £42000 - £45000 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As a Senior Primary Care Nurse your responsibilities will vary. You will

• You will lead a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse led service and prevent hospital admissions
• You will undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening.
• Seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
• Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a real difference, as defined throughout our bespoke Health in Justice competency framework.
• Inspire excellence by forging strong links with our partners and stakeholders and providing a service that people can trust, feel safe within, and feel proud of.
• Evidence based care and continuous quality improvement, embedding a culture of shared learning.
• Building strong multi-disciplinary teams and supporting each other to do a great job.

Qualifications required: 

• Registered nurse Adult
• Evidence of Continued Professional Development
• Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
• A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
• Excellent communication skills
