We have a fantastic opportunity for a Pharmacy Assistant to join the team at HMP YOI Doncaster, a Category B male prison, with operational capacity of around 1145, 200 of which are males aged between 18 - 20 years old. HMP YOI Doncaster is a local resettlement prison in South Yorkshire.
This is a rare opportunity to join our close knit Pharmacy team, where you will join a unique working environment, where no two days are the same! Within this varied role you will work in our onsite pharmacy - preparing for both new and existing patients, labelling, second checking and dispensing and more! Hours This is a full time role, working 37.5 hours per week, 08:00 - 16:00, Monday to Friday. There are no weekends or bank holidays!Salary
This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary of £24,669 - £28,690 per annum - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As our new Pharmacy Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:
- Work within the onsite pharmacy, based within healthcare
- Support the Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Manager, as well as the wider healthcare team
- Label and dispense medications, and prepare prescriptions
- Second check controlled drugs
- Contribute to services such as medicine reconciliation, managing stock medicines and transportation of medicines
- Provide support to ensure a safe and secure medicines management service, following policies, procedures and standard operating procedures
- Collect orders from the gate
- Help with supplying medication to the wings

Our New Pharmacy Dispenser Will Have:
- An NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Dispensing
- Experience within a pharmacy environment - whether in the community, hospital or a prison / secure setting
