We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Learning Disability Nurse to join our Mental Health Care team at HMP Wakefield, a category A Prison with 700 patients located in West Yorkshire.
Hours
The site currently offers a 24-hour service and shift patterns
Monday to Friday - 8am-4pm
Will need to be flexible and work on weekends if neededSalary
This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £47,466 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As a Senior Learning Disability Nurse your responsibilities will vary. You will
- Have responsibility for a caseload and be accountable for all aspects of delivering a nursing service for adults with learning disabilities/ challenging behaviour, within the criminal justice setting.
- Be working with adults whose behaviours have resulted in their offending and coming into contact with the criminal justice system
- Work with the multi-disciplinary team to undertake person centred specialist behavioural assessments, planning and co-ordination of positive non aversive behavioural approaches to service users.

Qualifications & Experience required
- Registered Nurse Learning Disabilities / NMC
- Evidence of Continued Professional Development
- Substantial experience working with adults with Learning disabilities with a range of clinical presentations
- Evidence of working Learning disability health within a community or inpatient setting.
- Evidence of use of a range of standardized and non-standardized behavioural assessment tools supporting clinical reasoning
