We are looking for Bank Podiatrists to provide cover at one or more of our North-West prisons:
- HMP Altcourse
- HMP Garth
- HMP Lancaster Farms
- HMP Preston & Kirkham
- HMP Risley & Thorn Cross
You can choose where you work we dont require you to cover all sites!
Main duties of the job
You will be part of a forward thinking, innovative health care team, including GPs, nurses, pharmacists, physiotherapists and mental health professionals, delivering high quality, best practice treatment. You will also form part of the wider MSK Health in Justice Team comprising of physiotherapists and podiatrists working in 58 prisons across the country. As our bank podiatrist, you will be:
- Providing high-quality podiatry care within the prison setting, supporting a diverse patient group.
- Assessing and treating a range of conditions, including diabetic foot care, wound management, MSK pathologies, and nail surgery.
- Working alongside a dedicated healthcare team, including GPs, nurses, pharmacists, physiotherapists, and mental health professionals.
- Contributing to rehabilitation, helping patients maintain their foot health as part of their overall well-being.
- Keeping accurate clinical records and working autonomously within a supportive team.
About us
To be successful in the role, you will be:
- HCPC registered Podiatrist with at least 18 months post-registration experience.
- Confident in assessing and treating complex and chronic conditions.
- Skilled in diabetic foot care, wound management, and MSK pathologies.
- Self-motivated with strong communication and organisational skills.
- A team player who enjoys working in a multi-disciplinary setting.
- Passionate about delivering high-quality care in a challenging but rewarding environment.
