We have an exciting opportunity for a Recovery Worker to be the one of the first to join our team at HMP Millsike, a brand new Category C men's prison, located in the village of Full Sutton near York
HMP Millsike will have an operational capacity of 1500 people who will spend their sentences learning the skills they need to find work on release as part of the governments drive to cut reoffending. The prison site is currently under construction and Practice Plus Group were recently awarded the healthcare contract to begin delivering services in April 2025.
This is a rare opportunity to be part of a new healthcare team from the inception of a brand new prison site.
Salary
This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary of between £24670 to £28690 per annum per annum depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As our new Recovery Worker, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:
- Delivering outstanding care to psycho social patients, seeking out, listening to, and acting on their feedback - ensuring that their care is personalised and tailored to the individual
- Providing a programme of psycho social interventions
- Provide information and advice on substance misuse, alcohol, smoking cession, blood borne viruses and safe sex practices
- Delivering care on a 1-1 basis as well as group sessions

Qualifications and experience required:
- experience in working with people with substance misuse issues
- a relevant degree, qualifications or experience
- prison experience would be preferable but not essential
