We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the Primary Care team at HMP YOI Moorland.
HMP YOI Moorland is a category C men's prison and Young Offenders Institution based in Hatfield, South Yorkshire. The site offers a range of healthcare services including Physical Health, Mental Health, Pharmacy and Substance Misuse.
This is a crucial role within the healthcare team, making a real difference to patients, and delivering outstanding care. No NVQ is required - we will support you to achieve this! Hours: This is a full time role, 37.5 hours per week, and you will work on rotational shifts. We deliver healthcare 24 hours a day, 7 days per week, and the rota runs fortnightly: Week 1 - Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday Week 2 - Wednesday, Thursday, Friday Shifts are either 07:30 - 19:30 or 19:30 - 07:30 Salary: This position is full time , youll receive an annual salary up to £28,690 per annum - depending on experience. Main duties of the job
As our new Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:
- Working within the primary care team, you will work with Nurses and Nursing Associates across the service
- Assist with clinical observations, vaccination clinics etc
- Provide outstanding quality based care to all patients
- Deliver personalised, non judgemental care, based on patient feedback
- Contribute to, and implement care packages, assist with health promotion, wellbeing and clinics
- Support the nursing and pharmacy teams onsite
- Support the mental health and substance misuse teams as necessary
- Assist with release and discharge when needed

Our new Healthcare Assistant will:- Have experience within a care environment - ideally primary care
- Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team
- Ideally hold a NVQ Level 2 or 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, or equivalent - this isn't essential!
