We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Inpatient Care Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Altcourse, a category B Prison located in Fazerkley.

This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary from £42,091.50 to £48,741 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As a Senior Inpatient Care Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will

• Lead a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse led service and prevent hospital admissions
•  to shift manage other services on a rotational basis not just IPU
• Form part of a senior pool of staff completing complaints/rota management/induction/1-2-1/Hr related incidents
• Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening
• Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
• Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a real difference
• Inspire excellence by forging strong links with our partners and stakeholders and providing a service that people can trust, feel safe within, and feel proud of
• Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence based care and continuous quality improvement, embedding a culture of shared learning.

Qualifications required: 

• Registered nurse Adult
• 6 month Senior Nurse experience - Desirable
• Prison experience desirable 
• Ward management Experience desirable 
• Current professional qualification (NMC)
• Evidence of Continued Professional Development
• Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
•  Excellent communication skills
• Proactive problem solving skills
• Motivated as an individual and when working in a team
