We have an opportunity for a Principle Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Pentonville, a category B remand Prison located in North London, which housing around 1115 patients. This role is fantastic opportunity that would suit a proactive pharmacist, who is experienced in leading a team, a great communicator and passion about developing pharmacy services. HMP Pentonville is a fast paced environment where you will be working collaboratively with the wider prison and healthcare SMT to ensure the successful running of pharmacy service.
The prison is easily accessible via Caledonian Road and Highbury and Islington stations, as well as having staff parking onsite.
Hours
Monday to Friday 8.30am-4.30pm or 9am-5pm
Salary
This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £66,000 per annum - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As a Principle Pharmacist, your responsibilities will vary. You will
- Provide leadership and support to the dedicated pharmacy team and the wider healthcare team around all aspects of safe use and handling of medicines within the secure environment.
- Ensure that there is good partnership working between teams to ensure that safe and effective patient centred care is at the core of what we do and in line with our wellbeing approach.
- Demonstrate high degrees of professional judgement across the role which will encompass both a leadership and clinical aspect.
- Continually develop your professional knowledge and skills and be expected to facilitate your own prescribing clinics within your sphere of competence.
- Understand cost effective prescribing practices and ensure these are implemented across the team of prescribers and empower the pharmacy team to challenge inappropriate prescribing.

Requirements
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Vocational Masters Degree in Pharmacy including pre-registration training
- Non-medical Prescribing qualification
- Relevant post qualifications
- Excellent communication skills
- Leadership experience
- Experience developing effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Non-judgemental and compassionate approach
- Ideal applicants will also have a prescriber qualification
