With the ever-increasing number of treatments and care we give to patients, our professional and detailed Administration Department is in need of an additional Patient Service Receptionist to join and assist the team at our Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC), Southampton.

The Patient Service Receptionist will be responsible for updating our internal system accurately and timely manner by entering patient details, scanning in documents, and arranging referrals to other healthcare providers.

 

This is a full-time permanent position, working 5 days across a 7-day week

The UTC is open Monday to Sunday, from 07:30 to 22:00

Early shift = 7.15-15.15

Mid shift = 10.00-18.00

Late shift = 14.00-22.00

Main duties of the job

Reporting to the Service Manager, being one of our Patient Service Receptionist will meet and greet patients and visitors at reception and ensure all patient provided information is processed effectively.

Youll answer calls from patients, taking their individual questions and enquiries, responded to them competency or following up if extra information is required.

Youll be processing and forwarding reports, bookings and related patient paperwork to other Healthcare Assistants highlighting any issues to the Service Manager.

In this position you will be liaising closely with the orthopaedics department at Southampton General Hospital.

With your experience youll ensure patient confidentiality is maintained and respected whilst attending to their needs by keeping patient records in an inconspicuous location when at the reception desk.

Ensure the retrieval and forwarding of general messages to the appropriate personnel within the department.

The right Patient Service Receptionist for this position will come from a very similar background. 

Youll be an experienced administrator with great customer focus appreciation, used to working effectivity in a fast passed, busy environment, remaining compliant working with personal information and sensitive data adhering to GDPR regulations.

You will be an effective communicator at all levels both written and verbal with strong IT skills, able to pick up new in-house systems easily.

Youll be a genuinely supportive and welcoming individual with a friendly approach, possessing an impeccable phone manner and customers service skills.
