We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Assistant to join the integrated Pharmacy Team at HMP Wakefield, a Category A male prison in Wakefield. We are a short distance from Wakefield train station, and offer a 24 hour healthcare service.

Hours

This is a part time position, working 2 days per week, usually between 08:00 - 16:00.

Salary

This is a part time role, and the salary is £23,100 - £27,195 (pro rata) depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As our new Pharmacy Support Worker / Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:

  • Provide high quality support to the supply, preparation and assembly of medicines under the direction of the responsible Pharmacist
  • Contribute to services such as medicine reconciliation, managing stock medicines and transportation of medicines
  • Provide support to ensure a safe and secure medicines management service, following policies, procedures and standard operating procedures
  • Be a key member of a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals

Our new Pharmacy Assistant will:
  • Have a Level 2 Pharmacy qualification
  • Ideally have experience within a Pharmacy environment (such as community or hospital based), but this isn't essential
  • Any healthcare experience is a bonus, for example a care home or hospital
  • Have a non judgemental and compassionate approach
  • Ideally have medicines handling experience
  • Be a hard worker, diligent, with a high attention to detail
