We have a fantastic opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the team at HMP Long Lartin, a Category A male prison near Evesham, Worcestershire.
This is a crucial role within the healthcare team, making a real difference to patients, and delivering outstanding care. This role offers excellent developmental opportunities and is a great environment to build on your experience within the primary care service. Hours: This is a full time role, 37.5 hours per week. Staff work 3 long shifts per week, either 07:30 - 20:00 or 19:30 - 08:00. Shifts are worked on a rota basis covering the healthcare service, which is delivered 24 hours per day. Salary: This position is full time , youll receive an annual salary of between £23,100 - £27,195 - depending on experience. Main duties of the job
As our new Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:
- Working within the primary care team, you will work with Nurses and Nursing Associates across the service
- Assist with clinical observations, vaccination clinics etc
- Provide outstanding quality based care to all patients
- Deliver personalised, non judgemental care, based on patient feedback
- Contribute to, and implement care packages, assist with health promotion, wellbeing and clinics
- Support the nursing and pharmacy teams onsite
- Support the mental health and substance misuse teams as necessary
- Assist with release and discharge when needed

Our new Healthcare Assistant will:- Hold a NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care / Care Certificate, or equivalent - a Level 3 would be a bonus!

- Be BLS trained, and prepared to undertake ILS training
- Be competent in performing physical observations, with an awareness to escalate concerns with any results
