We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner to join our team at HMP Isle of Wight. HMP Isle of Wight is a category B male training prison. Located on a small island, and is around 8 minutes from St Marys Hospital and 26 minutes away from Cowes Ferry Terminal.
You will be working closely with the on site Lead GP, GPs and ANPs to deliver care to around 1100 patients. This role would suit a GP who is looking to delivery end to end care, a large proportion of the patients have long term conditions and polypharmacy needs including cardiac, diabetes and asthma care. There is specific admin time built into the role with around 60% of time being patients facing.
HoursCore hours of operation are 07:30 -17:30
Salary
This position is full time 40 hours a week, youll receive an annual salary up to £120,000 per annum depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As a member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team, you will
- Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patients requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management
- Prescribing for patients, regularly review medications and monitor repeat prescriptions
- Provide a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team at site, as well as the patients you work with having active involvement in clinical governance and effectiveness activities.

Qualifications required
- MBChB or MBBS
- Inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List
- Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal
- Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice
- Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse
- RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these
