We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Doncaster, a category B Prison located in Doncaster
Doncaster houses a male population of up to 1145 individuals, approximately 200 of whom are young offenders aged 18-20.

Full time - 37.5 hours
Mon- Sun 08:00 until 18.30 Weekend on Rota basis Bank Holiday on Rota BasisSalary

Main duties of the job
As a Mental Health Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will
- Work within a multi-disciplinary team carrying out comprehensive assessments, initiating and reviewing care plans, and developing treatment options.
- You will undertake medication rounds, and assess and treat patients who may have undergone traumatic experiences and may be distressed.
- You will assess patients health needs using an evidence based framework and be able to risk assess use sound clinical knowledge, as well as Open, maintain, close and take part in reviews of individuals being managed under the Prison Suicide and Self Harm risk management system known as Assessment, Care in Custody and Teamwork (ACCT).
- Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them. You will work with individuals providing advice, support and information and manage a case load of patients.

Qualifications required
- Qualified Mental Health Nurse
- Current NMC registration
- Evidence of Continued Professional Development
- Experience of working with patients, face to face, who have complex mental health conditions
- Experience of psychosocial interventions, group work and awareness of substance misuse
- Sound clinical knowledge and assessment skills including risk assessment
