Main duties of the job

You will be working as part of a friendly, professional and expert team supported by our Manager, Kerry to assist in the efficient running of the ward inpatient service and co-ordinate the patients journey from pre-admission to discharge. You will work on a 30 bedded inpatient ward that predominantly cares for Elective Orthopaedic patients. Occassionally we have General Surgery or Opthalmic patients stay on the ward. You will provide post operative nursing care and prepare the patient for a safe discharge.

You will be an NMC registered Nursing Associate with experience in surgical nursing. However, all training will be provided in Orthopaedics if you are looking to change specialties. You will ideally have venepuncture and cannulation skills and the ability to perform ECGs, caring for surgical drains and catheterisation. We will provide you with ILS skills. Key in this role will be your ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and work flexibly within a changing environment.
