We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner to join our healthcare team at Moorland ICRS.
Moorland ICRS is a 9-bed specialist Intermediate Care & Reablement Service that opened in early 2022 based at HMP Moorland. The Moorland team adopts an inclusive, compassionate and punctilious attitude towards each other and their patients. HMP Moorland is a busy Resettlement prison where healthcare is provided 7 days a week.
Intermediate Care GP sessions will be primarily providing clinical case management with the multi-disciplinary team of the Intermediate Care Unit.Hours
This position is part time cover 8 hours a week (2 sessions) over 1 day
Salary
This position is part time, youll receive an annual salary up to 130,000 per annum FTE - depending on experience

Main duties of the job
Our General Practitioners are extremely valued and are well respected members of the Prison Healthcare community, as a General Practitioner, your responsibilities will vary. You will

Deliver first class healthcare to a diverse group of patients, and therefore as a General Practitioner at Practice Plus Group you get the opportunity to further develop your knowledge in areas you wouldnt usually experience within a practice, or even A&E environment.

Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patients requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management.

Provide a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team at site, as well as the patients you work with having active involvement in clinical governance and effectiveness activities.

Qualifications required
- MBChB or MBBS
- Inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List
- Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal
- Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse
- RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these qualifications
