As a psychiatrist you will provide excellent clinical care, assessment and treatment to patients on the case load onsite. You will actively participate in the strategic direction of the mental health service, lead the senior mental health clinicians on service developments and provide clinical supervision. You will work within the multi-disciplinary team to review referrals, determine appropriate treatment plans, conduct risk assessments, and engage in multi professional complex case reviews.
Main duties of the job
You will be a registered professional with current registration (GMC) with a specialist registration in either General Adult or Forensic Psychiatry. You will also have an understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working, and up to date knowledge in the adult psychiatry and PD. Interested in clinical development?

This is a part-time role working 15 hours per week.
About us
HMP Belmarsh is a Category A mens prison with an operational capacity of over 910 inmates and is located in South East London. The site houses a High Security Unit (HSU) and is regarded as the most secure prison unit in the United Kingdom. HMP Belmarsh became operational in April 1991 and is adjacent to and adjoin to Woolwich Crown Court.
The dedicated team in the Health in Justice division of Practice Plus Group make a real difference across over 45 prisons, young offenders and immigration removal centres.

of clinical practice and the implementation of the mental health pathway.
Deliver non-judgemental care by leading the team to deliver care
that is safe, high quality, patient centred whilst meeting CQC requirements
following our policies, procedures and always considering safeguarding.
Inspire excellence in your colleagues by pro-actively leading and motivating the team recognising
that our workforce is our most valuable asset.
You will provide professional leadership to ensure we provide a service
that people can trust, feel safe within and feel proud of.
Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence based care and
continuous quality improvement embedding a culture of reflection and shared
