We have an exciting opportunity for a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker at HMP Winchester to join our team. HMP Winchester is a Category B Local remand prison located in Central Winchester accommodating approximately 670 male prisoners.

Although the site is close to Winchester city centre there is onsite (free!) parking for all staff and it is a short walk from Winchester train station. 

Due to HMP Winchester holding remand prisoners and to support the daily regime, we do require staff to work on rota basis and you can be asked to work nights, bank holidays and weekends although if youre looking for flexibility we can discuss this at interview  

This position is full time 37.5 hours  a week and youll receive an annual salary up to 28000 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

You will be working with other members of the team that you are part of, assessing needs of patients and assessing risks accordingly. You will provide outstanding evidence based care to a case load of psycho social patients seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them. You will provide a programme of psycho social interventions, along with information and advice on substance misuse related concerns.   If you are interested in career development, we have a wide range of opportunities for you to develop your skills and experience, which include both internal and external options for development and learning.

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
