Job summary
To provide insurance, legal and general claims handling support to the General Counsel and the business in relation to existing operational projects and new business opportunities, in order to secure and maintain profitable growth through the application of robust commercial disciplines.
The position offers a high degree of autonomy in relation to insurance and claim matters and involves establishing a close working relationship with the Practice Plus Group insurance broker, insurers, 3rd party claims administrators, panel solicitors and internal stakeholders
This is a remote position; however, you will be required to undertake occasional UK travel. This should usually be completed within the day, although may occasionally require overnight stays.
This position is to cover a period of maternity leave and is offered on a fixed term contract basis.
Main duties of the job
As our Claims, Insurance & MI Lead, you will be responsible for;
- Day to day management of the Claims and Insurance function
- Cradle to grave handling of Claims
- Be the conduit of information to and from internal and external stakeholders
- Protect Practice Plus Groups position and ensure our insurance obligations are adhered to at all times
- Review and triage Datix incident reports so that insurers, indemnity providers and the business have sight of incidents /Claims that require action
- Collate Claims data (and accurately maintaining the data base going forward), code Claims, provide MI analysis to the Senior Leadership Team on trends and risks, report the accrual position to the finance team for budgeting
- Provide learning, support, insurance and claim guidance to Ops and Gov on coverage, issues, complaints, historical and newly closed Claims to ensure patterns dont develop and learning is implemented to lower Claims portfolio
- Ensure new business ventures have the proper insurance cover and provide information to the Bids Team for pipeline work
- Collate information from the business and support in the insurance renewal process
- Provide support and guidance to the Claims Administrator
