As a Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will be involved in the implementation of clinical care packages, phlebotomy and assessment, treatment and the evaluation of patients care.

You will support and assist patients with the activities of daily living, work with the Pharmacy Team to help them fulfil their daily tasks and you will be encouraged to take the lead on well-being promotion clinics.   You will support the registered nurse and operating department practitioner in implementing an agreed plan of care in association with the patient and in accordance with instructions and training received whilst promoting safe patient care and to be willing to develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for candidates with experience of working as a healthcare assistant. A non-judgmental, patient centred and compassionate approach is essential, as are excellent communication skills. To be successful in this role you will need to be motivated, work well as part of a team and work autonomously, with a proactive approach to problem solving.  Interested in professional development?

About us

Gatwick Immigration Removal Centre is a detention centre based on the grounds of Gatwick Airport, Crawley, West Sussex. Gatwick IRC provides a 24/7 service and the shift hours for the role are from 07:00-19:30 and 19:00 - 07:30.

The dedicated team in the Health in Justice division of Practice Plus Group make a real difference across over 45 prisons, young offenders and immigration removal centres.
